Terms of Service
The short version. Sloe is a personal planning app, provided as-is. It is not a medical, financial, or safety tool.
The free tier includes a limited number of AI sorts per day. A paid subscription raises that limit and unlocks themes and mascots; the App Store bills it, and it renews until you cancel.
You're responsible for what you put in and for actually doing your tasks — Sloe sends no reminders and marks nothing overdue. You need to be 13 or older.
1These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and the individual publishing as Whisker Wonder Labs ("we", "us"), a one-person independent app project based in Malaysia, covering the Sloe iOS app. Installing or using Sloe means you accept them; if you don't, please don't use the app.
You must be 13 or older (16 where that is the local minimum age for this kind of data processing) and able to enter an agreement where you live. Your use of Sloe is also covered by our Privacy Policy and by the App Store Terms of Service.
This agreement is with us, not with Apple. These terms take the place of Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement; the terms Apple requires us to pass on to you are set out in section 7.
2What Sloe is — and isn't
Sloe is a personal task-planning app. It helps you get what's on your mind out of your head, turns it into tasks sorted into areas of your life, and shows you a monthly picture of where your attention has gone. Use it for your own life and work as you see fit; just don't resell it or sell access to it.
Sloe deliberately sends no notifications and marks nothing overdue. Nothing in it will chase you, and nothing will tell you a deadline has passed. Please do not rely on it for anything time-critical.
Sloe is not a medical, mental-health, financial, legal, or emergency-safety service, and must not be relied on as one. If you are in crisis, contact a local helpline or emergency services — the app links to findahelpline.com for exactly this reason.
3AI suggestions can be wrong
When you tap AI dump, the lines you typed are sent to an AI service that returns suggested tasks and a life area for each, as described in the Privacy Policy. Those suggestions are generated automatically and can be wrong, incomplete, or filed under the wrong area. Reviewing what the app creates, and deciding what to act on, is up to you. Don't type in anything you wouldn't be comfortable sending to a third-party AI provider for processing.
This feature depends on services we do not control. If it is unavailable, Sloe keeps working: when your phone is offline or the request times out, the app splits your text into tasks on the device instead, without categories, so what you typed is never lost. If the service answers but answers badly, the dump fails, your draft is kept, and nothing is charged against the day's allowance.
4Free tier and subscription
The free tier includes a set number of AI sorts per day. Sloe shows no advertising, and there is no way to earn extra sorts by watching anything.
A paid subscription raises the daily limit and unlocks extra themes and mascots. Subscriptions are sold and billed by the App Store, charged to your Apple Account, and renew automatically until you cancel — cancel at least 24 hours before a period ends, in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Prices appear in the app before you buy, and may change with notice for future billing periods. Refunds follow Apple's refund policy — we don't process payments and can't issue refunds ourselves.
Limits, tiers, and prices may be adjusted over time, but we won't take away a benefit inside a billing period you've already paid for.
5Your tasks, and fair use
Your tasks are yours. They're stored on your device and we claim no ownership of them. The text you send for sorting is used only to provide that feature. Sloe has no backup or export, so keep your own copy of anything that matters to you.
Please don't:
- call the AI service by automated means, or try to exceed or bypass its usage limits;
- break, overload, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the app or the services behind it, except where the law expressly allows it;
- use Sloe unlawfully, or rely on it where a failure could cause harm.
6Our name and design
The Sloe app, the names "Sloe" and "Whisker Wonder Labs", the logo, the mascot artwork, and the app's design and content belong to us and are protected by intellectual-property law. Installing the app gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it under these terms — it transfers none of those rights to you.
7No warranty, and limits on liability
Sloe is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its AI suggestions will be accurate.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for lost data, arising from your use of or inability to use Sloe. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to the amounts we have actually received for your use of Sloe in the twelve months before the claim — which is less than you were charged, because Apple deducts its commission before we are paid.
Apple's position. Because Sloe is distributed through the App Store, Apple requires us to state the following, and where these terms say less than Apple's minimum terms require, those minimum terms apply. We — not Apple — are solely responsible for Sloe, for its content, and for any support or maintenance it receives; Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for it. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim you or a third party may have about Sloe, including product-liability claims, any claim that it fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, claims under consumer-protection or privacy law, and any third-party claim that it infringes intellectual-property rights. Apple gives no warranty of any kind for Sloe; if it fails to conform to any warranty that cannot be disclaimed, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, and to the fullest extent the law allows Apple has no other obligation to you.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and on your acceptance of them Apple has the right — and is deemed to have accepted the right — to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Some places don't allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law — including your rights under Malaysian consumer law or the consumer law where you live.
8Changes, stopping, law, and contact
Changes. We may add, change, or remove features, and may update these terms. For a material change we'll update the date above and note it in the app's release notes. Continuing to use Sloe afterwards means you accept the updated terms.
Stopping. You can stop at any time by deleting the app; cancel any subscription in Settings → your name → Subscriptions first, since deleting the app alone doesn't cancel it. We may suspend access to the AI service if it's being abused or used against section 5, and we may discontinue Sloe altogether — if that happens we'll give what notice we reasonably can, and you won't be billed for a renewal after it stops.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the Malaysian courts will have jurisdiction — except where your local consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings where you live.
Contact. Questions about these terms, and any support request or claim about Sloe: whiskerwonderlabs@gmail.com. We are the only party responsible for answering them.
